Terms of Service

Last updated: June 8, 2026

By accessing or using Oregon Code Assistant ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Oregon Code Assistant provides informational guidance about the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the Oregon Electrical Specialty Code (OESC). The Service uses AI-assisted retrieval over published code text and may produce errors, omissions, or out-of-date answers. The Service is not a substitute for the current adopted code, professional engineering judgment, a licensed electrician, a permitting office, an inspector, or the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.

3. Subscriptions & Billing

  • Free accounts include a limited number of questions per month.
  • Paid plans (Pro, Contractor) are billed monthly in advance via Stripe.
  • You may cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the paid period.
  • Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to perform unsafe, unlawful, or unpermitted electrical work.
  • Resell, scrape, or redistribute outputs as an alternative code reference product.
  • Attempt to bypass usage limits, RLS, or other security controls.

5. No Professional Relationship

Use of the Service does not create an engineer-client, electrician-client, or attorney-client relationship. The Service is informational only.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of property, profits, or life or limb arising from reliance on the Service's output. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the prior 12 months.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that misuse the Service.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
